There’s nothing like a Melbourne heat wave. I kind of miss it. It’s like pistachio ice-cream… kind of unpleasant at first, and then you get used to it. I grew up here and ‘when’s the cool change coming?’ is part of the vernacular.
I’m here visiting my family while Johnny surfs King Island, off the coast of Tasmania. I’m in the suburbs, and the local ice-cream van passes my parents house every hour on the hour (choc dip with nuts please.)
It’s wonderful to be visiting my roots, but as the week draws to a close – I long to be home in Byron… where every day (even when you work from dawn till dusk) can feel a little bit like you’re on holiday. This post takes me there…
