Happy Days.

I was at a Byron surf-market on Friday evening and I picked up the HAPPY DAYS (2011) diary.

I figured it was a good thing to support a local artist, and a perfect quick-fix Chrissy pressy blah blah… but when I got home and had a proper look at it I quickly wrote my own name on the inside cover.

It’s a gorgeous, honest, very ‘eco-minded’ little diary aimed at surfers & ocean lovers with a thing for street and surf art. It combines a practical weekly diary with the stoke of surfing, the beauty of the oceans and the joy of art.

I was especially enchanted by the fact that the days are written in the ancestral language of a different exotic surfing location each month (I sat on my verandah and studied it for an hour and now know the days of the week in Hawaiian, Tahitian, Maori, Moroccan Arabic & Basque! kind of.)

It’s a beautiful diary. Inspired & inspiring. You can buy it online here.

One of the many quotes I loved in the diary:

“There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is a second theory which states that this has already happened.” DOUGLAS ADAMS
