Lead me to Water

GUEST BLOGGER – JANA KIRN, WOLF & WILLOW

Halter Bra: Free People | Sweater: Free People | Skirt: Abercrombie + Fitch | Hat, belt & canteen Vintage

When the ladies of Spell asked me to do a guest post, I was more than excited. Some of my favorite outfit posts seem to be related to the Spell blog. Last summer, I submitted some photos for a photo contest they were having and I was lucky enough to be a runner up and featured on their blog in June of 2011. I have continued to follow their blog religiously, and everyday I look forward to their next post.

This past semester of college has been very hectic, so I really enjoyed getting the time over Christmas break to do this Spell inspired outfit post. I chose to wear one of my favorite sweaters from Free People and paired it with a long white skirt. To call this sweater slouchy would be an understatement. It pretty much just hangs however it feels like hanging, but I love the silhouette it creates with the skirt.

One of my favorite things to do is to wear a subtle colored outfit, and then accessorize with a pop of color. Red is my favorite color of choice when it comes to doing this, and in terms of jewelry, I say the more the better. This is the first time I have ever accessorized an outfit with a canteen, but It looks like a bag, so why not? My mom found this at an antique store and gave it to me last Christmas. It’s made out of reindeer hide from Finland and wrapped in leather. After I give it a nice washing, I might start to carry it around with me. I’m always down for a fashionable flask ;)

Taking pictures down at the beach again was so nice. At school, the closest beach is an hour away, so it’s nice being back home and only having to travel 5 minutes to get to sand and water. I had a lot of fun doing this post and I think it was just what I needed to get back in the swing of more consistent blogging. It is an honor to do a guest post for the Spell blog and I hope people can take some inspiration away from it :)
