Summer will be a love-in there…

If you’re going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you’re going to San Francisco
You’re gonna meet some gentle people there
For those who come to San Francisco

Summertime will be a love-in there
In the streets of San Francisco
Gentle people with flowers in their hair
All across the nation such a strange vibration

People in motion
There’s a whole generation with a new explanation
People in motion people in motion
For those who come to San Francisco

Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
If you come to San Francisco

Summertime will be a love-in there

I always loved that Scott McKenzie song… it was possibly one of the catalysts to my having a 60s flower-child for an alter-ego… Oh how we try to re-create the 60s, in how we dress, in music, I sought that ‘flower in her hair’ moment at all the festivals I went to in my 20s and early 30s – I’ve only found one, maybe two festivals that came close, and still they were miles off…
Then again – I watched Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris the other night, and of course into every era are born those who long to have grown up in a different time… so I try not to dwell on it too long… and of course appreciate the splendidly wonderful life I already live… : )
To those who are preparing for Coachella, I wish that you find a ‘flower in your hair’ moment amongst the madness~! Oh, and stay tuned for our Coachella GUEST BLOGGER post following each weekend of the festival… (Deets here for more on how you could win a $100 Spell voucher as well as be featured on Spell as a Coachella guest blogger…)
